Test dust
DMT Test Dust A2 fine quartz-free
General description
The best-known normative test dust for filter tests and environmental simulations is the Arizona test dust A2 fine, which is described in ISO 12103-1 with regard to its composition and particle size distribution. It is used for tests according to ISO 5011, IEC 62885 (DIN EN 60312), 32-SAMSS-008 (ARAMCO) or the new ISO 16890-3. Since the test dust consists mainly of quartz and has an average value d50.3 < 10 µm, there is an increased health risk potential due to the alveolar fraction. (Carcinogen, TRGS 906)
For this reason DMT GmbH & Co. KG has developed an alternative test dust, the so-called DMT test dust A2 fine quartz-free, which consists mainly of calcium magnesium carbonate and is not evaluated as a carcinogenic hazardous substance.
Composition
The particle size distribution of DMT Test Dust A2 fine quartz-free is between 0 - 120 µm.
Transport and Storage
Partial segregation may occur during transport and storage. It is therefore recommended to homogenize the DMT Test Dust A2 fine quartz-free before use, which can be achieved by mixing with a laboratory tumbler mixer. Please store in a dry and airtight original container.
Quality ensurance
In order to achieve reproducible quality, the raw materials and production are strictly controlled. The following quality controls are carried out:
Monitoring the particle size distribution of raw materials
Monitoring the particle size distribution of the end product
